Hmmm...interesting. i'll have to check this out.

here's some awesome stuff I can mention about Hyperdimension...

the "Microsoft goddess" (who wears green) brags about how big her breasts are claiming that the bigger they are is an indication of how powrful she is. (XBOX diss = lulz)

Neptune (Sega goddess) is killed only when the Nintendo, Sony and MS goddesses team up to destroy her.

Neptune tells the others that she "does what they don't" :)

The world is called Gameindustri.

The first enemy you encounter is a slime!

Instead of $ or Gil you receive Credits.

Instead of spells, you use CD-R's to envoke characters from other games -- like there's an Altered Beast spell for instance.

....are you guys in love yet? This is all just off the top of my head. There's sooooo much. It's amazing.

EVOLghost 08.27.2011 06:11 PM

^ yeah I saw a few clips. I'm intrigued. I will look into getting.

Radiant Silvergun on XBLA on September 14th. Never played it, but it looks like a great play!

^is it wrong that I want to buy this game a steak dinner and ask it to be my new BFF?

Has anyone else played this? It's such a tight action-RPG. Aside from Code Veronica, this has been eating up most of my gaming time lately. It's like A Link To The Past, except you fight with an upgradable mech-suit as opposed to sword and shield, and there's these kickass 3D boss battles!

Not to mention that it features one of the coolest intros to a game I've ever seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fQBmiGWP2A

I couldn't recommend this more.

this looks amazing.

I've spent tonight reading through this thread... gawd it was so fun at a time. Remember guys? Let's get that shit happening again.

EVOLghost 09.02.2011 09:07 AM

So.....I picked up one of these.

I used it yesterday a little bit and it feels awesome. I have class in a little bit..but upon my return. PRACTICE> PRACTICE >PARACTICE.

I don't want to get pro status....but I do want to be able to compete competently at the arcade.

noisereductions 09.02.2011 09:29 AM

holy crap EVOL! That thing's is better than my MadCatz. Good for you! How much did it set you back?

EVOLghost 09.02.2011 05:48 PM

$120 :-(....I managed to save up like 500 bucks....but then I had to pay for my own books....so I said fuck it...I decided to give myself a little present. it was on "sale" and a store in chicago....so....yeh.

EVOLghost 09.02.2011 05:49 PM

I mean...it's all sanwa...and the TE round 2 is goin' for $150. soo....yeh.

noisereductions 09.02.2011 08:21 PM

sounds about right. Sanwa is legit man. Good for you.

I just ordered an Agetec stick for my Dreamcast.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.03.2011 12:05 PM

Nice stick EVOL! A 'treat' indeed.

Got all 3 of these the other day, along with a 6 ft GC controller extension cord all for $5 at a local pawn:

^

Just as addictive as it's NES counterpart. They amped up the difficulty a bit though, I believe. I can't stop playing this one.

^ When I played this as a kid, I never really noticed just how big and pink they made Griffey's lips in this title screen. It reminds me of those controversial old Looney Toon episodes.

This game still has all the attitude I remember it having. Although, I gotta say it does feel a bit like a watered down SNK Baseball Stars game to me now.

^ Never played this one before today. I know Adam was raving endlessly about it. Definitely a wild co-op experience once you get the hang of things. I dunno though, I guess I was just expecting something a little more....errr.... Tetris-y? haha

^

Just bought this too at Destiny Games. Something's wrong though. Despite the disc being near-perfect, the game refuses to load after I select "New Game" and select all the gameplay settings it asks me to.

I don't understand and it's pissing me off!! What a cocktease.

*sigh*

EVOLghost 09.03.2011 12:17 PM

Woah....I thought Tetris Attack was....a tetris game....I wasn't expecting Yoshi.

EVOLghost 09.03.2011 02:11 PM

Practicing on Street Fighter Alpha 3. Alpha 3 is cool....but I think I like 2 a bit better. Alpha 3 is fast which is nice....but I don't know....There's just something abuot alpha 2.....ANyways...I'm switching Between Alpha 3 and SF2 Turbo....and holy fuck is SF2Turbo hard. I'm using the Arcade ports...so I don't know if that's why but yeah...

I'm hoping to get a working SF3 hopefully within the next few days....ugh so perfect imho. (Next to CVS2)

EVOLghost 09.03.2011 02:13 PM

Oh yeah...and I'll also be getting SSF4 sometime.....But yeah....I'm in fighting game mode right now.

EVOLghost 09.03.2011 04:20 PM

So....I started using Karin in SFA3. I am an idiot for not exploring her move set earlier. gawd...I really like using her. She's awesome.

That is a bummer but don't beat yourself up too badly over it. It's not great. The big problem that game has is it's barely futuristic. Like it's in the future relatively, but you keep crash landing on planets that are barely into the middle ages. And the sound was really messed up on mine. Like the music would be really loud and you could barely hear the dialogue. Strange stuff.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.03.2011 09:03 PM

Went to the shop and had 'em run the disc cleaner. Tested it there, it worked. Hopefully I have the same results, about to try it out now.

I don't wanna get too into it though, I STILL GOTTA BEAT CHRONO TRIGGER AGAIN! lol

noisereductions 09.04.2011 02:27 PM

picked up a little stack-o-Dreamcast games over the weekend. Won't be able to play until Tue/Wed when my DC arrives, though.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.04.2011 05:52 PM

^ What'd ya get?

so far

Daytona USA
Evil Dead Hail to the King
Sega Swirl
Shenmue

and downloaded some homebrew goodies. most excited about the BOR port of the Simpsons arcade game.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.04.2011 06:06 PM

The Evil Dead game for DC is actually kinda whack, I never gave it all that much play. Supposedly they didn't get it right until the PS2/XBOX titles.

Shenmue is of course, a classic.

I heard that Simpsons port had some slowdown issues... I could be misinformed though, I haven't tried it.

noisereductions 09.04.2011 09:14 PM

the Evil Dead's on PS2 are ok. But they're also nothing like the movies. So even though the first game probably sucks, at least it's at the cabin and I HAVE TO own it.

I'll let you know about Simpsons arcade. I'm really excited to try it.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.04.2011 10:07 PM

Evil Dead DC - It wasn't as godawful as some of the reviews make it out to be, it's just very frustrating to deal with overall. Respawning enemies and worrying about fuel for your chainsaw becomes tiring quickly.

I'd still pick it up if I found it cheap enough (how much did you pay?), it's just nothing I'd put on a 'must-play' list.

I actually just picked up Time Stalkers today (my local shop is giving away free old EGM's, and I just couldn't help but go back for a 2nd helping).

I know I just bought Star Ocean, and still need to re-beat Chrono Trigger; but a DC RPG for $8 CIB... I just couldn't refuse - randomly generated dungeons or not. :p

noisereductions 09.04.2011 10:36 PM

I payd $0 for Evil Dead. Traded in some shit that wasnt selling on my trade list to my local retro shop.

EVOLghost 09.05.2011 01:25 PM

GUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! My TV jsut went out. Fuck Samsung. Ugh, and I Left my SDTV at my friend's house and I cannot pick it up now. I'm fiendin'...

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.05.2011 02:06 PM

OUCH man. That's a bummer.

Got any handhelds?!? haha

nicfit 09.05.2011 02:18 PM

I can't fathom how a guy with a computer and an internet connection could miss a tv.

EVOLghost 09.07.2011 07:36 PM

Ugh. so jealous. now I want to pick up a gc. I had one but like all systems, mother insists on givin' them away. Fuck. Had Sf3s, MVC2, crazy taxi, shenmue(but i never played it. HA!), and PSO...some others too like rentals. I remember Jet Set radio or some shit like that. The tagging game. Yeah, that was awesome.

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.10.2011 10:20 AM

Dr. Eugene Felikson 09.13.2011 10:09 AM

You know what game is really fun to play with 2 hot chicks?

SUPER MONKEY BALL!!!

(Well... actually any game, I'd imagine.)

YOU KNOW WHAT GAME ISN'T FUN NO MATTER WHO YOU PLAY IT WITH???

XENOPHOBE FOR THE NES!!!

Apparently the original Arcade version is actually fun, but this NES port is a total wreck. I only purchased it, since I stumbled upon the manual at a local pawn... *sigh* what a let-down.
