Bytor Peltor, that's the FEVER compilation by Ultra Eczema records, it includes a track by Kim Gordon & Bill Nace; You can find information and listen to their track here:
http://ultraeczema.com/releases/

I wish there was a good record store in my town where I could actually buy some nice shit. I ordered mine and it will probably take two or three weeks to get here...

The one noisereductions asked about, it's threelobed's "Not The Spaces You Know, But Between Them...", side C. Info in this thread:

I did research -- so this is their contribution to that 3Lobed box? Badass. I dnt really want the box, as I dont have room to collect much vinyl these days. But hopefully I can find this to listen to.

I take it it's officially out now stu?

MF Doom - Operation Doomsday (bonus disc from 2011 reissue). I'm half-n-half on this. First off, as a longtime Doom fanatic, I already had 99% of these tracks in some form or another. BUT having them laid out as a companion album is a great idea. It kind of shows a creative process since the original single versions of most of the OpDoomsday tracks where pretty much just demos and there's a huge jump from one version to the next. It was also a very exciting time, with MIC just starting to take off. But I don't feel like the 2nd half of the disc works well. Just throwing those instrumentals on there feels so meh. Like they just gave up on compiling the disc. I'm sure there's tapes of outtakes that could have been used instead. I don't know, I just feel like a proper companion album would've flowed better than just putting all the A-Sides on the first half of a CD and all the B-sides on the 2nd half.

^ Operation Doomsday is the only DOOM I even bother spinning these days.

noisereductions 09.13.2011 01:26 PM

I love Doomsday, but I probably listen to King Geedorah's TAKE ME TO YOUR LEADER a lot more. It's tough to say a fav Doom album for me though. My obsession is really up there.

RE: Demolished Thoughts. Yeah. I like it. I think it's good. But it doesn't feel quite right to me either. Like I don't konw. It doesnt quite feel like this comfortable record to me. It feels like a collection of pretty good songs and kind of good demo ideas and stuff. It's weird. I thought I'd like it more what with Beck's involvement and all. But really, I don't like it as much as T's last solo album.

EVOLghost 09.13.2011 01:46 PM

I don't really like Demolished Thoughts.

Madvillainy is great, but there's other records I prefer. Doomsday and Geedorah being two of them.

As far as Nostalgia Ultra, I like about half of it, but the other half I find too... Cheesy? I don't know. There's songs where I'm like "Am I supposed to take this seriously?" But Frank Ocean's hooks on the Jay/Kanye album are really good.

Novacane, Songs for Women, Swim Good, etc.. lots of incredible songs there.
just makes me eager to hear his next project. also his new track "Thinking About You" might've been his best work so far.

as for the rest of 2011, i can't wait to hear the new albums by Nas, Rick Ross & Drake.

yeah I feel like I didn't love Nostalgia, but Frank Ocean has plenty of potential. Nas & Drake I'm interested in hearing for sure. I'm still on the fence about Ross. As far as upcoming hip hop for 2011, I guess I'm most excited to hear if Ghostface actually releases Supreme Clientele II.

Nas got back to work with AZ and producers from Illmatic, plus he's been on fire lately - Nasty, and his verse on Outro.
Ross keeps getting better with each album. his biggest advantage is his excellent ear for beats. his verse on Devil in a New Dress was amazing, and Teflon Don was one of the best rap albums in 2010. if he makes more soulful tracks like Tears of Joy instead of the hard shit (which he's been planning to AFAIK), then he could easily come up with a masterpiece.
Drake is taking the time to craft a perfect album this time, as opposed to TML which was a bit rushed, and had too many features.

noisereductions 09.14.2011 10:48 AM

yeah Nas is deifnitely on an upward swing for sure.

I agree with what you say about Ross, except I dind't hear TD. But his recent verses -- "Devil," "Monster," the track with Drake & Lil Wayne, etc have all been awesome. I'm interested.

Drake I agree with you on too. Although I did really enjoy TML. I mean it wasn't the masterpiece it could/should've been. But it was excellent.

A drug album that isn't really psychedelic. One of my favorites.
