I saw this a few days ago, my brother said he was going and I thought, what the heck, I have nothing else to do tonight. I didn't see the second one (I heard from a bunch of people who saw it that it was a huge letdown, so I didn't really plan on seeing that one or the third one). It was the second time my brother was seeing the third movie, so he told me that he would explain it to me as it went along. Still, I was completely confused by just about everything that was happening in it (apparently it relies heavily on the events from the second movie, rather than just starting a "whole new adventure" with the same main characters). With that said, it was still nice to look at, and I really thought some of the scenes were quite unexpected and really impressive, like the first time Johnny Depp appears and that whole setting. It reminded me of the more abstract settings in some Looney Tunes shorts. I liked what they did at the end with the relationship between Elizabeth and Will, even though I never really understood why they put those two together in the first place. The movie was too long for it's own good. There were a lot of things I didn't like, one being Orlando Bloom, who bothers me. But hey they stuck Keith in there so I can't complain.

pirates: yes, it has to do a lot with the second one, i really liked the second one myself (the kraken being one of my favorite parts), and yeah, it did remind me of the looney tunes! in a way, it was something i expected of it and some parts were really unexpected, a good mix. keith is great! and i liked chow yun fat's work in it.

Aren't they making a new Indiana Jones? I heard something about it a while ago.

I just saw Zero Day, very interesting layout/mood to the film and on the intro a Sonic Youth song is played, can't remember which song, maybe drunken butterfly.
I can see why this film has won so many awards.

Knocked-Up. Remember how surprised you were to see Seth Rogen in The 40-Year-Old Virgin wearing a t-shirt with the cover art for GZA/Genius' "Liquid Swords"? Well make sure to catch the very first scene in Knocked-Up for a similar but better surprise on the katnosudrc.

Danny Deckchair. It was a movie that had looked interesting to me, but never enough for me to spend the money on renting it. Luckily it came on IFC, and I saw it on my Mom's money. It was ok.

LifeDistortion 06.02.2007 10:13 PM

I just saw "An Inconvienant Truth" and apparantly we're all going to drown and turn into steam.

Silent Dan Speaks 06.02.2007 11:40 PM

Pulse. It was the worst movie I've seen in a long time, but we got a lot of laughs out of it so I didn't mind.

The cinematography alone is ugly.

val-holla-ing 06.03.2007 09:36 AM

The Harder They Come (jamaica's first feature film). it was great, but we had to have the subtitles on the whole time. before that, i watched Battle Royale.

sarramkrop 06.03.2007 09:46 AM

I've also watched Factory Girl but it's rubbish.

val-holla-ing 06.03.2007 09:50 AM

i wouldn't tell many people that i saw that one. something about darth vader playing dob bylan just isn't right.

sarramkrop 06.03.2007 10:04 AM

He's embarassing in that role. What were they thinking of? I'm now watching This Is England. Lazy day.

suprisingly good. i did not expect that. some spectacular moments in the cinematography as well. good actors & all. now i wish i had seen it on a big screen.

"The Harder They Come" is great, and despite its title its not a porno. And its great for people who aren't generally exposed to reggae music because "You Can Get It if you Really Want" "The Harder They Come" are such great groovy songs. Still haven't seen "Battle Royale" though.

you gotta see 'battle royale' at least once.

my girlfriend came home singing 'you can get it if you really want' one night and it was just funny because: a. she doesn't like reggae, generally and b. she was taunting in the most absurd manner.

Why? It looked nice and for some reason I like Robert Downey Jr.'s acting.

'Enduring Love' on Film Four.

I liked it. I love Rhys Ifans quite a lot lately.

Took me ages to find the book on my shelves during the ad-breaks...

Titanic was on right now but I didnt pay much attention to it.

i went to a midnight showing of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas last night with some friends. i love that movie.

Ocean's Eleven was on tv today. i love that movie.

LifeDistortion 06.04.2007 01:02 AM

Saw "Spirited Away" on Turner Classic Movies tonight.

Dead-Air 06.04.2007 01:11 AM

I just watched Artificial Intelligence: A.I. Parts of it were really well done, but Spielberg seemingly just couldn't handle ending the movie when he should have done so. The alien stuff in the last 45 minutes was both completely unbelievable and majorly unnecessary. Too bad, would have been a great SF movie. Still better than average by far.
