thanks for the info.
I don't have that many albums by them, but I won't make this one a priority then.

Has anyone heard it yet?
SRB had it for sale at ATP in December, but it was 25 pounds or so, so I passed.

i forgot i had this! i bought it from ATP and only played it once, like Adam said there's nothing new on it. i'm gonna give it another listen now...

narlus 01.26.2011 05:34 PM

it's a rehash, but a lovely rehash.

the collector/completist scum in me needed to own it.

loubarret 01.28.2011 12:30 PM

Anyone knows about the brothers tour, I saw a date at the OCCI/europe date(s?) seems to be up.

atsonicpark 01.31.2011 08:16 PM

http://www.youtube.com/user/bookdemon ... oh neat. Sun City Girls have a youtube page, and they even made playlists for the vhs's I upped for them! LOTS of unreleased videos (including some Uncle Jim and Gocher video experiments) I'd never seen before. Get on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

slowfidelity 01.31.2011 10:46 PM

been listening to this band a lot. so great!

Cooking With Satan 02.01.2011 10:56 AM

Some of you may or may not already know that there's a new Alvarius B LP out this month titled "Baroque Primitiva" via Poon Village.

Anyways, there were only 300 copies pressed for distribution through Forced Exposure and the word is that they've oversold their preorders so y'all are going to have to wait until the CD is reissued through Abduction.

atsonicpark 02.01.2011 11:25 AM

thanks man! had no idea!

narlus 02.01.2011 02:36 PM

if there is anyone local to Boston who wants to help w/ printing and get a copy for their efforts, PM me.

narlus 02.05.2011 04:10 PM

some shots of screening done today (click for more)...the new LP sounds great as expected.

the show last night was great. Alan was in good spirits, played the Bond cover from the new LP, and a bunch from all over place, including a handful of SCG songs (I Deal A Stick, CIA Man, Eye Mohini at least).

I've got some vids and a bunch of photos, but I'm out the door to the airport so will post 'em up sometime next week when I get back.

and the Dredd Foole/Chris Corsano duo was fantastic! i've seen Chris play a few times but have never seen Dan sing. he was great.

narlus 02.21.2011 01:00 PM

the volume is super low...i forgot to change the input levels for Alan's' show.

narlus 02.27.2011 11:51 AM

this volume should be 10dB louder...

thx u!

Baroque Primitiva is awesome, I can't stop listening to it. Album of the year this far, along with Natural Snow Buildings. Actually I can't stop listen to the older Alvarius B records either right now. Does anyone know where to find his first solo album (the single disc S/T)? I've searched for it a lot but it seems impossible to find and I don't get soulseek to work. Would be much appreciated if someone knows.

atsonicpark 03.22.2011 05:29 PM

what's wrong with slsk? it works perfectly. just get the latest version on slsknet.org .. I just searched and it came up ... uh . 29 people have it. Soulseek is essential my friend.

Don't lie.

You're either not trying very hard, or what you meant to say is that you're looking for somewhere to download it for free.

It's available on CD from most online retailers.

http://www.amazon.com/Alvarius-B/dp/...1019652&sr=8-1

atsonicpark 03.24.2011 09:50 PM

Actually, I didn't want to say anything, cuz I love file sharing, but I found ALVARIUS B at a local music shop about a montha ago and was sorta surprised, cuz they didn't have ANY other titles by alan/richard/scg.

Anyway s/t is a pretty cool album..

It crashes everytime I try to download something. Could be that I have the Mac version and it sucks, but I don't know, whatever it is I don't get Soulseek to work. Believe me, I've tried.

Well, yeah. But to be honest I didn't even check any online retailers for it since it just felt so, I don't know, unlikely that anyone would still sell an old Alvarius B CD. I mean, SCG records are hard to find, and they would probably sell a lot more than an old Al B record.

But anyway, I ordered the CD so everything's fine. And Baroque Primitiva still is addicting as hell.

atsonicpark 03.27.2011 05:56 PM

oh I didn't know there was a mac version.. yeah man that's definitely it. Hah!

hipster_bebop_junkie 04.09.2011 10:44 PM

Sir Richard Bishop is offering 25 copies of "Funeral Mariachi" in vinyl format at the moment on his facebook page. $30 each plus shipping, sealed, unplayed, and in mint condition. Just thought i'd post a heads-up in case there is someone from here looking for an LP copy of this.

washer 04.13.2011 01:26 PM

So, this week I gave 330,003 Crossdressers... the first couple of spins and it probably will end up being my favourite SCG record. There's hardly a bad song or a boring moment on the course of its two hours, and I fell in love with a handful of songs instantly. Seriously awesome stuff.

atsonicpark 04.22.2011 09:24 AM

new sir richard bishop album "GRAVITON POLARITY GENERATOR" is interesting and UNEXPECTED... anyone have his album HEAD TRAUMA?!

narlus 05.01.2011 01:02 AM

yeah, i've got it.

atsonicpark 05.01.2011 08:07 AM

it's a bit shakey (I only had a photo, not video pass, and didn't want to get on security's bad side) but watch in 720p for best quality.
